The motorcyclist drove 155 km/h Wickenburg area after hunting

WICKENBURG, AZ (AZFamily)—A man faces charges after investigators say he was involved in a motorcycle chase Thursday on Loop 303 in West Valley, eventually reaching speeds more than twice the legal limit.

According to court paperwork, a Department of Public Safety officer clocked 20-year-old Benjamin Liang going northbound at 133 mph on the highway near Northern Parkway around 10 a.m.

DPS said two surprise officers chased him.

When the motorcycle squad went after Liang, the officers backed off.

A trooper lost sight of Liang because he was going so fast while a surprise police officer at Bell Road said he was going 151 mph, DPS said.

Investigators said he passed about five officers and troopers before exiting the freeway at Grand Avenue and heading west on US 60.

Law enforcement in Wickenburg was told to be on the lookout for him, as he was driving very fast and would need to get gas soon.

Court documents said a Wickenburg officer clocked Liang going 155 mph.

Once he got into town, he went over the speed limit and stopped at a restaurant owned by his parents.

Officers then arrested him.

Liang reportedly told them: “Everything is fine. I know you had fun with it.”

After that, he said nothing to law enforcement, according to court records.

He now faces one count of reckless driving and another for criminal speeding, both misdemeanors.

His bond was set at $100 cash only.
