Martha Stewart says she’s voting for Kamala Harris after becoming a mother in the Biden-Trump vote

Martha Stewart is one Kamala Harris selector.

The home and lifestyle guru from New Jersey made his choice known in a recent public appearance.

Stewart was at the 2024 Retail Influencer CEO Forum on Tuesday before the presidential debate when the topic came up.

In an onstage conversation with Joanna Coles, chief creative and content officer for the Daily Beast, Stewart said she is voting for Harris because she would like to support a candidate “who don’t hate New York” and “don’t hate democracy,” the Daily Beast reports.

But Stewart, 83, who was born in Jersey City and raised in the Nutleybe careful about saying much more.

She didn’t want to make too much noise with an endorsement, she explained, because giving one could risk losing “50% of your viewers and your fans.”

I’m not allowed to talk (about politics),” Stewart said. “I can’t write anything about politics because first of all, the eyeballs will come in a parent company and (I’ll) get a call right away – can’t do it. You can’t talk (about it), so – keep it quiet.”

The Daily Beast points out that Stewart declined to endorse a candidate for the same reason in 2020, when Donald Trump ran for re-election against Joe Biden.

She did supports Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election, Trump called “completely unprepared.”

As for Stewart’s history with Trump, she spoke out against him back in her “apprentice days.”

2006 placed blame Trump after her NBC spinoff of “The Apprentice,” “The Apprentice: Martha Stewart” (which ran for one season in 2005), received low ratings. She said Trump reneged on a deal with her that her show would be the only “Apprentice” on TV when it aired. The idea was for her to “shoot” Trump on TV, she said. Instead, Trump’s “Apprentice” remained on TV during her program debut.

Trump, an executive producer of Stewart’s series, hit back with a public letter, saying Stewart had lied and told the media it was her fault the spinoff failed.

Later, when Trump won the 2016 election, Stewart no longer seemed to be feuding with his old “Apprentice” rival.
