3:00 am update – Bulloch County Public Safety is reporting trees down across the county. Over 20,000 are without power. Protection in place. We have about three more hours of tropical storm winds.

When to call 911

  • Medical and other security-related (trees on the house, criminal activity, fire).
  • Downed trees blocking the roadway, flooded road or other storm emergencies. (you can call Public Works directly from 8-5 at 912-764-6369
  • Flooding in your home is a mess but not a health emergency. (You can call 911 if you need help getting out of the home and to higher ground.)

Do NOT use Facebook to send messages to any of the public safety agencies.


Closed roads

You can search by road name or locate the road on the map and click on it to get a road status. Check road status before you travel.

Sheriff Noel Brown is asking everyone to please stay off the roads between midnight Thursday, September 26, 2024 and 6:00 a.m. Friday morning, September 27, 2024. The approaching storm is expected to bring strong winds, which could lead to downed trees and other road hazards. Be safe and avoid unnecessary travel during these times.


Power failure

Hurricane Helene has caused widespread power outages across the area. See outage maps with estimated restoration times below.

To REPORT an outage to GEORGIA POWER, please CLICK HERE. If there is a hazardous condition, including downed power lines, call 1-888-891-0938.

To REPORT an outage to Excelsior EMC, call 912-685-2115.

Never touch any submerged or low hanging power line. Always assume that the power lines are energized. Report the location of any downed or low-hanging wires to the utility company. You can also contact local authorities or call 911 in an emergency.
