Zoe Ball finally breaks her silence on BBC Radio 2’s return after weeks away | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TV

Zoe Ball has taken to social media to confirm her return to BBC The Radio 2 presenter, who has been on leave since August, announced she will be back at the helm of the breakfast show tomorrow morning (September 23) and thanked Scott Mills for stepping in for her.

The 53-year-old tweeted: “Back to breakfast tomorrow morning 6.30. @realscottmills 7 @djspoony thanks for putting in the mega shifts.”

Fans quickly took to the comments to share their excitement for Zoe’s return. One said: “Hooray, welcome back, missed you gorgeous woman.”

Another exclaimed: “Yeah, so happy… love Scott, but not the same as listening to you on the way to work.”

And a third wrote: “Glad you’re back and hope you’re well, been worried about you, really hard time for you bless you.”

Zoe has taken some time off from work following the death of her mother, Julia. Zoe announced her tragic loss in April, just 12 weeks after her mother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

Zoe wrote about the loss of her mother on Instagram, writing: “Sleep well dear mom. Thank you for teaching us to love unconditionally, to always show courage and empathy, and how laughter is greatest even on the darkest days. of gifts. We are bereft without you but will hold each other so tightly.”

She last presented her radio show on 8 August before Scott Mills unexpectedly stood in for her the following day.

Addressing his absence then, Scott said: “If you just lined us up this morning, Scott Mills is filling in for Zoe for the next few weeks. Sending you all my love Zo as well as the team.”

It was reported that BBC bosses had told Zoe to take “as much time as she needs” to grieve her mother and they were doing “everything they can” to help her return to work when she was ready.

Now, her team is said to be excited about her return to her beloved show.

A source told The Sunday Mirror: “Zoe has been through a lot recently but she has fought through and is keen to get back to work. Scott has done a fantastic job but the team are looking forward to welcoming Zoe back.”

The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show airs weekdays from 6.30am to 9.30am.
